Tennis is actually a competition where the winner is the one that best controls the ball, it is all about control, not hitting. In fact the verb hit is the wrong verb for a game of control and finesse. The verb control is the correct verb to use for this amazing sport. Stop hitting the ball and instead control it through body dynamic motion.

I am a Tennis Canada Certified instructor, and Club Pro 1 Coach (CP1) working in the greater Vancouver area, and qualified to teach beginner through to 5.0 level players. Tennis is not a racquet sport, but a footwork and movement sport. If you are in the right place at the right time, you get to control the ball and send it back how you want, when you want, where you want. Move your feet and move your body. Since 2018 I have immersed myself in the Spanish training system, and fully incorporate it in all my lessons.

I am passionate about teaching tennis, and my love for the sport continues to grow as I continue to learn more ways to teach it, through a variety of sources. I am always learning and do my best for each individual student, tailoring each lesson for what they need.

There are 6 fundamentals that are required to build a tennis player, embraced by the Spanish system. Footwork (balance and stability), strong defense, strong consistency, weapons, physical attributes to grind out long points, and the willingness to do so. This Spanish call this suffering.

I am a black belt in Taekwondo, run, ride super sport motorbikes, am a PADI Cetrified SCUBA diver and participate in other sports. I grew up playing football (soccer), a sport that drives amazing footwork skills. Please get in contact if you are interested in learning to play, or improving your current level.
